Here are some photos of me from my days when I was in rehab and all the people who helped me along the way. I remember when I was to weak to hold a spoon and feed myself, wow how things have changed since then I must say I am truly blessed and grateful for God's blessing upon me to be able to now feed myself and have a little of my mobility back as far as being able to feel and move my legs again.

  Writing about my feelings and my daily challenges is not always easy because each day brings a new challenge that I have to face. I came down with Neuro Myelitis Optica (NMO) in 2010 which is a rare auto immune disease that attacks and causes inflammation in the brain, nervous system and spinal cord. I completely lost my ability to walk in July of 2010 and even though I dealt with the major set back of paralysis in my entire body and not being able to talk or communicate like I was use to doing. Life had changed for me in a major way but still through it all I was still faithful, I never asked God why me? Because in reality why not me? While my love ones worried about my life span and if I would make it to the next day I never worried or questioned how long God had planned for me here on this earth because I knew in my heart that I was already healed. My therapy

Today August 21st 2013 I had my physical therapy session which went very well, even though it seems like I'm taking baby step towards walking I am making some amazing improvements. Today Meghan and I worked on my standing and taking steps in the parallel bars with 1lb weights which was very hard. We started with me standing straight up and balancing myself which can be a super challenge because I have to get my glute muscles stronger to help hold me up, then we went on to taking some step and I must say I was proud of myself because usually my stamina is so low I can't get passed a minute on the stepping exercise but I was able to surpass my usual goals and made new ones today. I am so bless and so grateful because daily I can see a change in my strength and I know it is my Lord and Savior working in my life.

Today is one of those days where I had to tell myself to smile, I am a very positive person but I woke up today angry about my situation and being in this wheelchair. Before getting sick I was very nutritious, fit and had re-dedicated my life to Christ. Between working, working out daily, my church activities, acting/dance classes and volunteer services I was a busy lady who enjoyed life. I was also very independent and I was not use to people doing things for me or waiting for others to do for me but this morning my heart was heavy and my mind was clogged because of the changes I have been forced to deal with. Instantly I began to pray but I was still down in the dumps until I had a talk with my brother and he reminded me of how far I have come and all of my accomplishments. He stated that maybe my health situation may not be what I would like for it to be but it could be a lot worst and even through the storms I am still blessed.
